TORREVIEJA TOURIST INFORMATION
Torrevieja is located about 30 miles south to Alicante city. Many British, Germans and Scandinavians live here all year round due to the excellent micro climate. The City grew next to a tower (Torre), the old one (la Vieja), which gave it its name.
Torrevieja Spain, lies between the Sea and two massive salt lakes (Las Salinas). A traditional holiday destination, specially for British, offer many attractions in the area for the whole family.
You can get to Torrevieja from Alicante via the N 332 road. There are fantastic views as you go through Santa Pola, La Marina and Guardamar all the way to Torrevieja. You will see many Salt lakes too as you go along.
Please remember! There is no direct bus service from Alicante airport to Torrevieja or the way around. You have to take the C6 Bus from Alicante Airport to Alicante Bus Station (city centre) and take a bus from there. It takes about 60 minutes to reach Torrevieja or you can rent a car at Alicante airport.

Torrevieja Tourist Information - Beaches
Enjoy the fantastic beaches in Torrevieja area. You can start in the sandy La Mata beach (to the north). It is the longest beach of Torrevieja and a full range of facilities are available there.
Los Locos is a golden sandy beach with a typical calm and clean blue mediterranean sea. There are small creeks to the north of the beach all the way to Cabo Cervera.
El Cura is another sandy beach with a bustling atmosphere and a lovely Palm Tree environment where you will find many restaurants and bars to enjoy the traditional local dishes like Paella and taste exquisite tapas and sangría ;-).
Los Naufragos beach (to the south), is the one with more sport activities in the area. The nearly white sand and clean blue waters make this beach an ideal place to relax.
