Teulada Spain
Teulada is a town in the Marina Alta, north of Alicante and it is a municipality that has a distinctive feature, it is formed by two towns, one inland, with the same name, and another one on the coast, Moraira.
It has over 14,000 inhabitants (INE 2008), and 60.37% of them are foreign citizens. Its main charm lies on its spectacular growth, while retaining its rural setting, a growth-oriented to natural resource conservation, traditions and customs, to ensure a sustainable future.
Tourism is the most important part of the local economy (fishing and agriculture used to be the main activities before tourism arrived), and today, it has become a major international tourist destination. It borders the towns of Benissa, Benitachell, Denia, Javea and Gata de Gorgos.
What to Do?
The fantastic weather in the area guarantee plenty of outdoors action, and having the sea so close, you can enjoy many water sport and activities such as scuba diving, swimming or fishing. If you rather want other type of entertainment, you could join a local tour to visit the nearby area, choose a hot air balloon trip, visit any of the many golf courses in the area, playing tennis, etc, the options are endless.
There are varios attractions and places to visit in and around the city. The Castle of Moraira, the Museum of Archaeology or the Divina Pastora Chapel are only a few examples. Do not miss the various local gastronomic delights including traditional rice dishes. Dishes are made with local grown products, but if you are not the cooking type, there are many excellent restaurants around, not only Spanish, but international restaurants such as Italian, German, Asian, etc.
