Calpe
Spain A geographical marvel
One of the most beautiful
places in Alicante Province is Calpe Spain. Clean and quiet beaches,
mountains overlooking the sea, excellent weather, valleys and great
hospitality.
When you move around Calpe, you can´t
miss the great Rock
of Ifach (Peñon de Ifach), from its top everything seems possible.
Contemplating the rock is a real pleasure.
The Rock
of Ifach, a symbol of Calpe, rises in the sea up to 232 m high and 1 km
in length. It is a combination of elements, a mountainous
landscape with others as coastal enclave, where
the sea plays an important role.
Calpe is an ideal place for
nature fans. Nestled between
mountains on the seafront, it has high altitudes with abundant
vegetation
and rich wildlife, as well as a varied animal life.

Calpe Beaches Basically,
Calpe is a fishing village with over 11 km of
coastline by the Mediterranean Sea. There are
about 6 km of sandy beaches.
One of my favorites is "Playa
de la Fossa", with more than 1 km in length and with the blue
flag award, which ensure the quality you would expect from EU
standards. You can practice several water sports such as scuba diving.
Another
excellent beach is "Playa del Arenal", also with the blue flag. Both
beaches have fantastic facilities for visitors, such as
recreational and sport areas.
Other less popular
sandy beaches but worth to explore are El Bol, Molí, Morello,
Cantal Roig
and Calalga. If you are planning to scuba
dive or fishing you can choose between the coves of Les Basset,
Cantal Pla, baths Queen, Les Urquía and Cala Gaspar.
Things
to do in Calpe There are many things to
do in Calpe, Spain offer a great variety of outdoors
activities and you wont be dissapointed when visiting this beautiful
part of the Mediterranean coast.
Head to the city
center, the street markets, join outdoors activities (I love when they
cook a Giant Paella, you know, free drinks and food, live bands, etc),
water sports, dance lessons next to the sea, sail away in the
Mediterranean blue waters, dance all night long in the summer
festivals, whatever you choose, sure it will be a memorable time!
There
are about 5 km of beautiful cliffs in Calpe (Ifach, Toix and Manzanera).

Rent a Car in CalpeThe
Costa Blanca is a fantastic area to explore. Alicante, Denia, Javea,
Benidorm and many more amazing cities are at your fingertips when you
rent a car in Calpe, Spain. All this coupled with excellent weather
and fiestas all year round will make your holiday a special one.
Calpe
is located 60 km from Alicante and you can reach it from Alicante
Airport via the A7 motorway or the N332 (along the coastline). If you
are not use to drive in Spain or just doing the transition from right
to left hand drive I suggest you go by the A7 motorway, it´s straight
forward, clear signs and very well maintained. Otherwise it could get
far too complicated.If
you rather want to take the train or bus to Calpe and rent a car once
you are there, you can take the Benidorm Bus from the Airport or Alicante Bus Station , and once
in Benidorm Station take a bus to Calpe or you can take the TRAM
and FGV Train from Alicante city.
