Alicante Restaurants

A large variety of excellent cuisine

Alicante Restaurants

Alicante Restaurants are known for its classical Mediterranean cuisine and simple Spanish dishes, restaurants and dining venues in Alicante are popular with both visitors and locals.

Almost every restaurant in Alicante offers some variation on paella, the city's most celebrated dish. The traditional one-pan recipe pairs short-grained rice with so-called "poor" ingredients like rabbit, chicken, and snails. The all-seafood version, often taken by outsiders to be the most authentic paella, is actually a later development.

The late hours observed in Spanish kitchens are taken to an extreme here: Except at a few tourist establishments, it's bad form to turn up for lunch before 2 p.m., or for dinner before 9:30. For those visiting Alicante with a less cultured and adventurous palate, a selection of restaurants specialise in English and British-style cuisine, where steaks, fish and chips, salads and buffets are available.

Fast-food restaurants can also be found in the city centre and are ideal for those looking for a quick burger or pizza snack. Restaurants can range from the casual, inexpensive meals to the exquisite and exclusive, but dining in Alicante is definitely a pleasure with so many beautiful seaside and city center locations to choose from and typical Spanish charm and atmosphere to compliment the often mouth-watering dishes.
