Alicante Port

Alicante is great - as a city it's the best, it has history, culture, restaurants and a dynamic international feel. It really is everything you want in a city. It even has the sea, great beaches, sunshine and a great temperature all year round. What more could you want?

However, if I had to make a choice then I would say that my favourite place in Alicante is, without a doubt, the Port. There is something so harmonic about this very special and beautifully designed area of Alicante.

There are nice places to eat and drink in the Port, overlooking the yachts. A simple walk along the port is like a 'tonic' or a 'pick-me-up'.

Being there, with those spectacular yachts resting quietly in the sea and that view of the Castle at the top of the mountain seems to create such a calm ambience whether it is the middle of the day or the middle of the night.

If I were an artist living in Alicante I think I'd be there all the time just painting away without a care in the world...
