Both the city and the beach are absolutely beautiful. The city itself has a very resort feel to it.
It has an amazing nightlife which starts in the downtown area around 10:30 and then moves to the water front around 3am.
Alicante has a decent number of shopping areas, and you can easily spend all day long walking the city centre shops or you can visit the popular Street Markets where you will find just about everything, antiques, fresh fruit and vegetable produce of their particular region, virtual florist and plant garden centres, etc.

Villa Joyosa is located in Alicante province, in the district of Marina Baixa, 32 km northeast of Alicante city, and it has more than 34000 inhabitants. A city of great fishing tradition, now includes the chocolate and tourism industries in its economy.
Moraira is a small fishing village dominated by tourism and is a part of the municipality of Teulada, located 4 km inland. Moraira is a small and very pleasant town with natural-sandy beaches and rocky coves.
Benissa is a seaside town located north of Alicante, next to Calpe and Moraira. Only 70 km away from Alicante Airport, you will find magnificent beaches and coves to explore and many historical places and monuments to visit in Benisa.
Teulada is a town in the Marina Alta, north of Alicante and it is a municipality that has a distinctive feature, it is formed by two towns, one inland, Teulada, and another one on the coast, Moraira.
La Zenia is one of the most popular beaches of Orihuela Costa, an open beach with fine sand with a length of 350 meters long by 60 wide. It is located between Playa Flamenca and Cabo Roig.
Playa Flamenca is located in Orihuela costa, south of Alicante, 25 minutes from Murcia Airport or 40 minutes from Alicante Airport. As well as sun, sea and beaches, you will find all sort of activities for the whole family, a shopping area, restaurants, bars and many sport activities.
Daya Vieja is located in the heart of the Lower Segura river plain, 42 km from Alicante and just 8 km from the coast. It is a privileged village because of the excellent communications (A-37. CV-910) and it is surrounded by the most authentic Segura Orchard.
Daya Nueva is located south of Alicante and only 3.2 Kms from Almoradi. It is a lovely little village surrounded by orange and lemon trees and a short drive away of the beautiful sandy beaches of Guardamar, La Marina, Gran Alacant, Torrevieja, etc.
Almoradi is located about 44 km to the South of Alicante, in the comarca of Vega Baja. It is known for its trade, furniture production, agricultural products and services offered.
Ciudad Quesada is located just a few minutes drive from Rojales (South Alicante) and is a very stylish and quiet town. You can find many activities there for your holidays such as an Aqua Park, a Golf Course and a Social Club.
